365 @ 54°30' South

If you are enjoying following Winter @66 South, you might also like to check out the blog that I ran during my time on Macquarie Island in the sub-Antarctic at 54 South.

I was on Macquarie Island for one year as Station Leader for the Australian Antarctic Division.
My intention was to document a photo a day. This quickly escalated into  2 to 6 photos a day, and then into 6 photos plus a story.
Our internet connectivity on Island was extremely bandwidth limited, and by October, I simply was unable to upload posts over our satellite connection. I do however have all my posts logged offline, and will look to update these progressively over the next little while.
If you'd like to see Macquarie Island as it progresses  from Autumn to winter and then spring as the wildlife returns, I suggest  browsing the blog chronologically...

Enjoy the Green Sponge.
